
Will is a former walk-on at Virginia Tech who earned a scholarship then went on to have a Ten-Year NFL career playing offensive line. During his college years with the Hokies, he earned several awards including the Frank O. Moseley Award as one of the team’s Top Hustlers, the President’s Award for Outstanding Leadership, and was named as a permanent team captain. Will also earned first Team ALL ACC honors by the Associated Press, and first Team Academic All-ACC in 2005. In the weight room, he earned Excalibur Hokie Honors and was selected to represent Virginia Tech as the NSCA 2006 All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year. Will left Blacksburg with a Bachelors of Science in Business Information Technology and a Masters of Science in Health. He is also a Graduate of the Harvard Business School’s NFL Business Management Executive Education Program.
The Carolina Panthers drafted him in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL draft. In 2007, he joined the New York Jets, followed by the Washington Redskins in 2008 where he played for six seasons. His final two seasons in the NFL were with the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears. While with the Bears, Will was voted by his offensive line teammates to represent the group for the team’s Leadership Council.
Since playing his last NFL game in 2015, he has provided football analysis for the radio on 106.7 the FAN, on television for FOX 5 DC, and online for Pro Football Focus. He aids in the instruction of several local youth football camps. Additionally, he has worked as a Visualization Engineer at IT Cadre. Will is married to his wife, Ashley, and together they have two children, Samantha and Luke.
